Tsai-Ju Lee is a Taiwanese conductor and pianist based in Germany. She is currently undertaking Advanced Professional Training for Conductors at the Berlin University of the Arts, following five years as a conducting répétiteur and second chorus master at Opera House Magdeburg, where she has been involved in numerous productions, including Turandot, La traviata, Peter Grimes, Carmen and Eugene Onegin. Her repertoire spans Baroque, Classical and Romantic music, as well as musical theatre and operetta.

Her passion for music theatre developed during her Master’s degree in conducting at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, where she participated in productions including La bohème, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Lighthouse and Dichterliebe by Christian Jost.

Committed to bringing classical music to wider audiences, she has created projects in unconventional venues conducting works including Rusalka, Don Giovanni and Bruckner’s Second Symphony. She is particularly interested in contemporary and experimental opera involving audience interaction and has served as musical director of the children’s operas Laika, the space dog and Die unbedingten Dinge.

Her orchestral conducting experience has led her to work with ensembles such as the Leipziger Sinfonieorchester, Savaria Symphoniker, Nordböhmische Philharmonie, and the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra. Tsai-Ju Lee has participated in masterclasses with renowned conductors including Daniele Gatti, Ulrich Windfuhr, and Norbert Baxa, which have further shaped her artistic development..
